Update your info and account settings

  1. Select Start , select Settings , then click Accounts or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.

  1. From here, manage all your Windows account info settings. Change your photo, user email, or connect with apps to get updates automatically.

Update email accounts

  1. Select Start , select Settings , then click Accounts or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.

  1. From the left menu select “Email & app settings.” Update your email address, add a new one, or add a Microsoft account to Windows 10.

Sign-in options

No matter how you log into Windows, Microsoft keeps your business and personal data secure. Try Windows Hello to unlock your screen with just a look or set a password and PIN. You can even use a picture login. No matter what option you choose, here’s how keep your information safe.
  1. Select Start , select Settings , then click Accounts or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.

  1. From the left menu select “Sign-in options.” Then choose how you prefer to sign-in either with just a look using Windows Hello, a PIN, or a password.

  1. Click “Change” and set up the PIN or password you’d like to use
  2. To reset your PIN, click “I forgot my PIN.”
  3. Scroll down to Add a picture to login.

Connect your device to access work or school

  1. Select Start , select Settings , then click Accounts or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.

  1. From the left menu select “Access from work or school.” Then click the + sign to connect.

Add family and other people

  1. Select Start , select Settings , then click Accounts or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.

  1. From the left menu select “Family and other people.” Then click the + signs to connect any other users to your device. Users added this way can sign in and access their personal profile.

Sync your settings

To sync your settings between devices using the same account, you can turn it on and off for individual settings.
  1. Select Start , select Settings , then click Accounts or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.

  1. From the left menu select “Sync your settings.” Then use the toggle sliders to turn off syncing and settings to your preference.
