Installing apps and adjusting their features
- Select Start , select Settings , then click Apps or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.
- Choose where you can get apps from: anywhere, warn first, or only from the Store. Store apps are more secure.
Adjust Default Apps
- Select Start , select Settings , then click Apps or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.
- From the left menu select “Default apps.” Click the app you want to change under the category of your choosing. You have some options for categories:
- Click on the app you want to make the default.
- Select Start , select Settings , then click Apps or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.
- In the menu on the left, select Default apps. Then click the “Reset” button.
- After you click Reset, all apps will revert to their original default system settings, but you can go back in and adjust and customize your options.
Offline Maps

- Select “Offline maps” from the left menu. Then click the + sign to Download maps, and browse to the region you want to download.

Get Windows apps for websites
Access to some apps can also be through a web browser. Here’s how to turn that setting on and off.- Select Start , select Settings , then click Apps or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.
- From the left menu select “Apps for websites” and use the toggle slider to turn the setting on or off for the respective app.
Adjust your video playback settings
Update your video playback settings with Windows settings.- Select Start , select Settings , then click Apps or open settings from Start menu or use the keyboard shortcut, Windows key + I.
- From the left menu select “Video playback” and use the toggle sliders, the dropdown menus, and the check boxes to update settings to your preferences.
