Skype for Business

Skype for Business General settings

  1. After signing into Skype for Business, click the settings icon on the right side of the window.

  1. In the General setting window, set your Conversation window options, set the logging level and set whether to minimize Skype for Business to the notification area instead of the task bar.

Skype for Business Personal settings

  1. After signing into Skype for Business, click the settings icon on the right side of the window.

  1. Select Personal from the list on the left.

  1. Set the sign-in address and whether the app starts when you log in to Windows.

Skype for Business Contacts List settings

  1. After signing into Skype for Business, click the settings icon on the right side of the window.

  1. Select Contacts List from the list on the left.

  1. Choose how contacts are displayed, ordered and what information is shown for contacts.

  1. After signing into Skype for Business, click the settings icon on the right side of the window.

  1. Select Ringtones and Sounds from the list on the left.

  1. Choose the ringtone for incoming calls and how to play sounds in Skype for Business.

Skype for Business Audio Device settings

  1. After signing into Skype for Business, click the settings icon on the right side of the window.

  1. Select Audio Device from the list on the left.

  1. Choose your audio device from the list, then test your speakers, microphone and ringer to make sure everything works. If you experience audio issues in a Skype call, this is the first place you should check.

Skype for Business Video Device settings

  1. After signing into Skype for Business, click the settings icon on the right side of the window.

  1. Select Video Device from the list on the left.

  1. Choose which camera you want to use in video calls. The Surface Laptop has one video camera built in. You can also change your camera settings such as Brightness and Contrast by clicking Camera Settings.

  1. Select Skype Meetings from the list on the left.

  1. Set whether IM or participant list are shown when joining a meeting.
  2. Set the default app for meetings.
  3. Choose what happens when you join a conference call with Skype for Business.
  4. Set whether notifications are displayed when Outlook is also running.
